Data Deletion

Delete farm data or delete your account.

Use these controls to remove farm records, close your account, and understand what may remain for backups, security, or legal reasons.

Deletion can be permanent. Export farm records before deleting if you may need them for compliance, audit, insurance, marketing, service history, payroll, or future farm decisions.

1. Delete Farm Data In The App

Farm owners can delete farm-scoped data inside Headland:

  • Open Headland.
  • Go to Settings.
  • Open the Data section.
  • Use Export farm archive if you want a backup of farm-scoped records.
  • Choose Delete farm data.
  • Review the warning and type DELETE when prompted.

Farm-data deletion is owner-only. Other members can ask the farm owner or an admin to remove records or access.

2. Delete Your Account In The App

To delete your Headland account, open Settings, open Data, and use Delete Headland account now.

Account deletion removes your login, removes you from farm access, clears push subscriptions, and anonymizes your profile. It is separate from owner-only farm-data deletion.

  • Go to Settings.
  • Open the Data section.
  • Use Delete Headland account now.
  • Type DELETE ACCOUNT when prompted.

If you are the only owner of a farm, Headland can mark that farm inactive when your account is deleted. If other accepted members remain, ownership can move to another member so shared farm records stay with the farm.

3. What Deletion Covers

Farm-data deletion

Farm-data deletion is intended to remove farm-scoped records such as fields, equipment, service records, bins, inventory, contracts, loads, tickets, photos, tasks, time entries, reports, farm memory, and conversations tied to that farm.

Account deletion

Account deletion removes the personal account tied to your login. Shared farm records can remain with the farm account unless the farm owner separately deletes farm-scoped records.

Local device data

If you used guest mode or local-only storage, you may also need to clear app or browser storage on your device. Headland cannot delete local-only browser data that was never synced to our servers.

4. Records We May Need To Keep

Some limited information may be retained when necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, tax or payment records, dispute handling, backups, app integrity, or to document that a deletion request was completed.

If retained data is no longer needed for those purposes, it will be deleted or de-identified according to our operational practices.

Deleting an account does not automatically remove records that belong to a separate farm account owned or administered by someone else. We may need farm owner authorization before deleting shared farm records.

5. Expected Timing

In-app farm-data deletion is designed to begin immediately after the final confirmation. In-app account deletion is designed to begin immediately after you type DELETE ACCOUNT and confirm.

Some limited information may remain in backups, security records, audit trails, or legally required records for a limited period.

6. Before You Delete

Before deleting, export records that may matter later:

  • Spray and scouting records.
  • Equipment service history, parts, and fluids.
  • Grain contracts, loads, quality, and bin movement.
  • Time entries, payroll notes, and employee records.
  • Photos, tickets, reports, and old paper records converted into Headland.
