The Working Promise
Headland is built around a simple idea: farmers cannot control their data until they actually have their data. A grain ticket in a pickup, an oil-change note in the shop, a field pass in a text thread, and a contract in the office are all useful records. They just need a permanent place to land.
Headland gives those records a home and connects them to the field, bin, machine, person, contract, season, and decision they belong to.
What Headland Stores
Depending on how you use the app, Headland can store fields, bins, inventory, equipment, service records, parts and fluids, photos, contracts, load tickets, quality details, weather locations, tasks, time entries, farm members, notes, reports, conversations, and other records you choose to add.
You can start with what you already have: paper slips, photos, spreadsheets, service notes, tickets, and field records. The records do not need to be perfect before they can become useful.
What Headland Does Not Do
- We do not sell farm data.
- We do not use farm data for advertising resale.
- We do not use farm data to train public or shared AI models.
- We do not make final operating decisions for the farmer.
- We do not replace product labels, legal requirements, contracts, or professional advice.
Who Can See Farm Records
Farm records are scoped to the farm account. Farm owners and admins decide who joins the farm and what role each person has. Employees, family members, or advisors should be invited only when the farm wants them to have access.
If someone leaves the farm, their access should be removed by the farm owner or admin.
How Headland Uses Service Providers
Headland uses service providers to make the app work: authentication, database, storage, hosting, weather, document/photo processing, and assistant responses. Those providers receive only the information needed for the feature being used.
For example, if you ask a question about a field, Headland may send the question and relevant field context to the assistant provider so it can answer. If you scan a ticket, Headland may process that image to extract the record.
Control and Deletion
Settings includes a farm-data deletion control for farm owners. Headland also provides an in-app account-deletion request path and a public data deletion page for account deletion or data deletion requests.
Before deleting farm data, export anything you may need later. Deletion can remove the operating history Headland was built to preserve.
The Farmer Still Makes the Call
Headland can surface records, organize context, summarize patterns, and make information easier to find. It does not replace the farmer. The farmer still decides what to spray, when to move grain, whether to service a machine, and what is right for the farm.
